Best of This Year
On the day before the DH premier, the guy I like approached me, inquiring "people call you Tonks, correct?" Now, mind you, he is an 18 (two years my senior) year old who has only taken AP classes and is the kindest, though shyest gentleman in the world. I nod (true to my clumsiness and pink hair). He responds with "my friends call me Remus or Moony." Our first date was to the midnight showing, in full costume. My life is truly magical. MLIM
When I got my Pottermore account and was Sorted, I was very shocked (but not unpleased) to learn that I'm in Slytherin. When I broke the news to my parents, my mom said, "Well, Harry was almost a Slytherin." and my dad said, "The bravest man I ever knew was a Slytherin. Be proud!" Thanks, Mom and Dad, for making my life Magical.
Today I saw this on DBPB: "Dear J.K. Rowling,
Writing a book for muggles describing the magical world in explicit detail is a violation of Section 13, Part C of the International Warlock Convention. We expect you to attend a hearing on February 28th.
Sincerely, The Ministry of Magic." MLIM
Average Wizrds and Witches. The ones who buy anything Harry Potter-related. The ones who get excited when anyone makes a reference. The ones who go to midnight movie premieres and book releases. The ones who feel at home at the Wizarding World. The ones who cry over character's deaths. The ones who find a way to connect Harry Potter to anything. The ones who play Quidditch in their backyards. The ones who quote the movies, books, and musicals whenever possible. The ones who burst out singing Get Back to Hogwarts. The ones who decide what college they're going to on how Hogwarts-like it is. The ones who connect with strangers over a love for series. The ones who dress up in robes, and know that it's normal. The ones that believe in the Chosen One. The ones who love JK Rowling for her work. The ones who yearn for a Hogwarts Acceptnce letter. The ones who cast spells at anyone who will listen. The ones who have stuck with Harry forever. The ones who will be heartbroken July 15, yet know that it's Not Over Yet. The ones whose lives are magical.
Today, I found out if I wear my black snuggie backwards, the way it billows around me when I walk makes me look like Severus Snape. This makes me happier than it should.
Tomorrow's September first which happens to be my ten soon-to-turn-eleven year old sisters birthday. She started reading Harry Potter at age 9 and like me is a die hard fan. I've planned her a Harry Potter themed surprise birthday, invited all her friends and told them to dress up as their favorite characters. I also bought her a wand and made a handmade Hogwarts acceptance letter for her and last but not least at the end of the day I'll surprise her with four tickets to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! My parents have some friends named Jeff and Krista Rowlings. They called the other day, and before I picked up the phone I glanced at the caller ID which read : J K Rowlings. My heart began to beat uncontrollably fast, my palms began to sweat, and I couldn't breath. Gingerly, I pressed the "talk" button on the phone and brought it to my ear. "He-hello?" I squeaked, knowing without a doubt that my life was indeed magical. From the other end, I heard Krista say "Hey, Katelyn, it's Krista, is your mom home?" I could have cried.
To those who cried when they counted up the deaths.
To those who waited in line for hours at midnight to get the first copies of the book.
To those who watched every movie.
To those who were very annoyed when some of the movies just didn't match up.
To those who cried the second time they read the book, and Fred said, "When I get married." and they realized it wouldn't happen.
To those whose books fell to pieces from being read to much.
To the Harry Potter generation.
To Dumbledore's Army.
To the Muggle branch of Dumbledore's Army.
To Dobby, Fred, Hedwig, Tonks, Lupin, and all of the nameless dead wizards.
To
The
Greatest
Series
Of
All
Time.
To Hogwarts, and To Dumbledore and Sirius.
To everyone who will cry after the movie.
To Us.
The Harry Potter Generation.
LONG LIVE HOGWARTS!!!
My friend refuses to watch AVPM/AVPS. If this gets posted and 150 ^'s then she'll watch both!! Please MHLM! (make her life magical)
Today I thought of something. The Tw*l*ght fans are less cool because they're divided. They argue and fight over Team Stalker and Team Steroids. But we Potter fans, we're all united (like the Sorting Hat told us to be). We're a gigantic wizard family unit. We can sit in line next to total strangers and talk like we're best friends. We glory in each others' triumphs (there will be a roaring cheer when Voldemort dies) and despair in each others' pain (Fred. :() That's the thing about Harry Potter. It brings people together.
