In my Honors English class, my teacher asked us all if any book had made us cry. All of the girls in the class (except for me)called out various names of Nicholas Sparks books. The first book(S) I thought of were Harry Potter. MLIM

personally, Dobby made me saddest. the way he died, and the fact Harry wanted to dig the grave "The right way" made me sob uncontrollably, though i was crying throughout the entire book basically.
agree whole heartedly i mean just look at my username... and btws... so wearing black and brining multiple boxes of tissues with me for the very last movie installment.

I always considered Sirius' death to be one of the saddest. If only he had used the mirror Sirius gave him!
That was the saddest! I was mad at Harry for a while actually, because he didnt even OPEN the mirror.

Agreed, because 1) Dumbledore dead?!? WHAT?!?! and 2) MY FAVORITE CHARACTER JUST MURDERED WHO?!?!? I was actually in denial for a number of pages after the AK...
ohhhh I would have said My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult. It's a killer. My mother, sister, and I took turns reading it. My mother bawled at the end. My sister bawled at the end. I bawled at the end. Strangely enough, my eighth grade English teacher (whom I love) did not cry at the end. But she's rather weird that way. = P
I bawled throughout the movie... I just couldn't help myself!

I didn't cry at any of the deaths, but I did cry when Harry was walking to his death in DH, it was just so powerful.
He was so brave for that. I was still crying from the deaths, and that just made it 10x worse.
I was almost crying in the Prince's Tale chapter, but usually I don't cry in books but I still felt dreadful

i can't even count how many times i had to put the book down for a few minutes because 1) I was too sad/mad that Rowling actually killed them off or 2) because i simply couldn't see through my tears enough to read what was in front of me

I bawled like a baby when I read that Dobby, Snape, Lupin, Tonks, Fred, and Colin Creevy died. I was upset for a week. One night at dinner I just randomly started crying, and my parents asked me what was wrong. Im pretty sure all they heard was "ahhhh Fred!" Its makes me tear up when I think about it. And another part that made me cry was when Harry and Hermione were in Godrics Hallow and Harry was reading the thing on the gates that said something about "the violence that tore apart this family". That was soooo sad. What evil person could do that?! Oh yeah, drunk drivers and Voldemort.
